Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on 23 July 1989. He was born at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital in the Hammersmith district of London. He is the only child of casting agent Marcia Jeanine Gresham (née Jacobson) and literary agent Alan George Radcliffe. Both of Radcliffe’s parents were child artists. Education:
Radcliffe attended three private boys’ schools in London. Radcliffe School, Sussex House School and City of London School respectively. After the release of the first Harry Potter film, he found it difficult to attend school. Some classmates became jealous and hostile towards him at the time. However, he has said that his acting career began to affect his studies and daily life. So he studied with teachers on the set. He admitted that he was not a very good student in studies. Acting career:
Daniel used to act in small school productions since childhood. He soon got the opportunity to act on the big screen. In 1999, he played the role of young David Copperfield in the film ‘David Copperfield‘. A few years later, in 2001, he got the opportunity to play the role of Mark Pendel in the film ‘The Tailor of Panama’. Shortly after this, director Chris Columbus called Daniel to play the role of ‘Harry Potter’. This film was released in theaters on November 16, 2001.
This film brought him worldwide popularity. Filming for the sequel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, began in 2002, to the delight of audiences and critics alike. He reprised his role as Harry Potter in Alfonso Cuarón’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and then Mike Newell’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).
Shortly after, he completed filming for December Boys in Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, and Geelong, Australia. It was shot from 14 November 2005 to sometime in December of that year. In 2013, she played the role of American poet Allen Ginsberg in the thriller drama Kill Your Darlings, directed by John Krokidas. She also starred in the Irish-Canadian romantic comedy film The F Word, directed by Michael Dowse and written by Alan Mastai.
